It was the Longhorns second consecutive loss after winning their first 17 games.
The Huskies (13-6) outscored Texas (17-2) 54-32 in the second half and earned their first win over a ranked opponent this season in five attempts.
Kemba Walker had 19 points and 10 assists, and Stanley Robinson added 17 points and 12 rebounds for UConn, which again was without coach Jim Calhoun, who missed his second game on a doctor-ordered leave of absence.
The win likely will put the Huskies back into the Top 25 after they missed the poll for the first time in 36 weeks. It was their second straight victory after three consecutive losses.
Damion James had 23 points and seven rebounds and Avery Bradley scored 15 for Texas.
No. 2 Kentucky 101, Arkansas 70
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Darius Miller had a career-high 18 points, DeMarcus Cousins got his 10th double-double and the Wildcats kept alive the nations only unblemished record.
Kentucky (19-0, 4-0 SEC) hasnt topped the AP poll since 2003, but is almost certain to be there on Monday after top-ranked Texas back-to-back losses to Kansas State and UConn.
Courtney Fortson led Arkansas (8-11, 1-3) with 21 points.
No. 3 Kansas 84, Iowa State 61
AMES, Iowa – Cole Aldrich tied a season high with 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and the No. 3 Jayhakws won their fourth straight to stay perfect in the Big 12.
Marcus Morris added 16 for Kansas (18-1, 4-0), which closed the first half on a 25-11 run and extended its lead to as much as 67-45 midway through the second half.
Kansas held Craig Brackins, who torched them for 42 in Ames last season, to just 13 points. Marquis Gilstrap added 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Cyclones (12-7, 1-3).
No. 4 Villanova 81, St. Johns 71
NEW YORK – Scottie Reynolds scored 19 points and the fourth-ranked Wildcats matched the 1950-51 team for the best start in school history.
Villanova (18-1) also moved to 7-0 in the Big East for the first time.
The Wildcats took control midway through the second half at Madison Square Garden, scoring 12 straight points to go up 60-49 with about 10 minutes remaining. It ensured their sixth straight win against St. Johns (12-7, 2-5).

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Wes Johnson scored 22 points, including a momentum-bursting alley-oop, and added 15 rebounds to lead fifth-ranked Orange.
Kris Joseph added 14 points for Syracuse (19-1, 6-1 Big East), which has won 19 of its first 20 games for the fifth time – fourth under coach Jim Boeheim.
Darius Johnson-Odom scored 17 and Lazar Hayward added 16 for Marquette (11-8, 2-5), which lost its seventh straight road game.
No. 6 Michigan State 65, Minnesota 64
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Kalin Lucas scored 22 points, Raymar Morgan added 17 and the No. 6 Spartans won their eighth straight while matching their best Big Ten start since 1977-78.
Lucas hit a 3-pointer with 1:27 left to break a 62-all tie, giving Michigan State (17-3, 7-0) its first lead. Minnesota answered with a basket by Damien Johnson and had a chance to win with 3 seconds left, but Lawrence Westbrooks shot came up short and a tip was no good.
Westbrook and Devoe Joseph led the Gophers (12-7, 3-4) with 16 points each.
No. 7 Duke 60, No. 17 Clemson 47
CLEMSON, S.C. – Nolan Smith scored 22 points and Duke earned a measure of revenge for its most lopsided defeat in two decades last season at Clemson.
Lance Thomas added 13 points, Kyle Singler had 12 and Jon Scheyer 11 for Duke (16-3, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), which suffered 74-47 loss to the Tigers at Littlejohn Coliseum last February.
Trevor Booker led the Tigers (15-5, 3-3) with 22 points.
Georgia 78, No. 8 Tennessee 63
ATHENS, Ga. – Trey Thompkins scored 21 points and Georgia led by double digits most of the way to end the Vols seven-game winning streak.
Georgia (9-8, 1-3 Southeastern Conference) ended Tennessees streak of 10 straight wins in the series, including eight straight under coach Bruce Pearl.
Scotty Hopson led Tennessee (15-3, 3-1) with 19 points.
Oklahoma St. 73, No. 10 Kansas St. 69
MANHATTAN, Kan. – James Anderson scored 30 points and Obi Muonelo hit two key 3-pointers in the final minutes to boost Oklahoma State just six days after Kansas State beat No. 1 Texas on the same court.
Kansas State (16-3, 3-2 Big 12) sliced a six-point deficit to one on Curtis Kellys two free throws with 26.9 seconds to go. But the Wildcats fouled on each of their next two possessions. Nick Sidorakis iced it for the Cowboys (15-4, 3-2) with two free throws with 5 seconds left.
Denis Clemente had 19 points for Kansas State and Kelly had 13.
No. 11 West Virginia 71, No. 21 Ohio State 65
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – DaSean Butler scored 21 points and West Virginia rallied from a 14-point deficit.
Darryl Bryant added 14 points and Wellington Smith scored 11 for the Mountaineers (15-3), who overcame yet another slow start to beat the Buckeyes (14-6) for the second straight season.
William Buford led Ohio State with 22 points and Evan Turner added 18.
No. 12 Georgetown 88, Rutgers 63
WASHINGTON – Greg Monroe made his first eight shots and finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds for Georgetown, which never trailed and shot 63 percent for the game.
Chris Wright hit four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points and six assists for the Hoyas (15-3, 6-2 Big East), while Austin Freeman added 14 points.
Jonathan Mitchell scored 21 points to lead the Scarlet Knights (9-10, 0-7), who have lost eight straight and remain the only winless team in the conference.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – JaJuan Johnson scored 21 points, ETwaun Moore had 19 points and six assists and Robbie Hummel added 13 points for the No. 13 Boilermakers.
DeShawn Sims led the Wolverines (10-9, 3-4 Big Ten) with 21 points, and Zack Novak added 16.
They carried extra responsibility because Michigan guard Manny Harris, the conferences top scorer, was suspended for what his coach described as an act of unsportsmanlike conduct during practice on Friday. The team did not release details of the conduct.

SAN DIEGO – Jimmer Fredette scored 33 points and helped key a 15-0 run midway through the second half that carried BYU to its 15th straight victory.
BYU (20-1, 5-0 Mountain West Conference) has the second-longest winning streak in the nation, behind Kentuckys 19 straight, and reached 20 wins for the fifth straight season.
Freshman Kawhi Leonard had 16 points and 11 rebounds for SDSU (14-6, 3-3).

SPOKANE, Wash. – Sensational freshman Elias Harris scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Gonzaga won its eighth straight game.
Matt Bouldin added 19 points and Steven Gray 18 for Gonzaga (16-3, 5-0 West Coast Conference), which beat LMU for the 29th time in 31 meetings.
Vernon Teel had a career-high 27 points and Drew Viney added 20 for the Lions (10-11, 1-4).
No. 16 Temple 62, Fordham 45
NEW YORK – Juan Fernandez scored 13 points, Scootie Randall had 12 and the No. 16 Owls came on after a poor-shooting first half to run their winning streak to six.
Temple (17-3, 5-0) is the only unbeaten Atlantic 10 team and is off to its best start since the 1993-94 team also began 17-3. It has won 13 of its last 14 overall.
Chris Gaston had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Rams (2-16, 0-6), who are 1-12 since Jared Grasso took over as interim coach after Dereck Whittenburg was fired.
No. 22 Mississippi 73, LSU 63
BATON ROUGE, La. – Chris Warren scored all 14 of his points in the final nine minutes to help the No. 22 Rebels hold on against LSU.
Warren, who missed his first five shots, put the Rebels in front 56-54 on a 3 with 8:45 left. Ole Miss stretched the lead to 68-60, and Warren made three foul shots to put it away.
Terrance Henry and Eniel Polynice also had 14 points for Ole Miss (15-4, 3-2 SEC).
Bo Spencer led LSU (9-10, 0-5) with 22. Tasmin Mitchell had 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Alabama 62, No. 23 Mississippi St. 57
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Anthony Brock and JaMychal Green each made two free throws in the final 18 seconds to lift the Crimson Tide over the cold-shooting No. 23 Bulldogs.
Alabama (12-7, 2-3) had dropped three straight, while Mississippi State (15-4, 3-1) had a three-game win streak come to an end.
Mikhail Torrance led Alabama with 20 points, while the Bulldogs Jarvis Varnado had four blocks to move past Colgates Adonyal Foyle into second on the NCAAs career list.
No. 25 Baylor 71, Massachusetts 45
WACO, Texas – Ekpe Udoh and Tweety Carter each scored 23 points as the No. 25 Bears extended their home winning streak to a school-record 11 straight.
LaceDarius Dunn added 15 points for the Bears (15-3), though he fell short of becoming the first Baylor player in 12 seasons to have five consecutive 20-point games.
UMass (7-12) lost its fifth consecutive game even while becoming the team this season to outrebound the Bears. The Minutemen have lost seven of eight overall.
