Arizona to impose sanctions
February 5th, 2010 Posted in NCAA basketball news, NCAA college basketballArizona first-year coach Sean Miller says his school will impose its own sanctions on the basketball program for violations by former coach Lute Olson related to an offseason AAU tournament in 2008.
Miller confirmed after his Wildcats lost Thursday night at Washington that Arizona will announce its own penalties on Friday.
He did not confirm or deny a Foxsports.com report that the Wildcats are going to sacrifice a scholarship, recruiting days in the summer and on-campus visits by recruits.
Miller says hes been aware of the situation well before the former coach at Xavier took the Arizona job in April.
He says he is very confident in what the university and its athletic department has decided and that it doesnt come as a surprise to me.
