June 30th, 2008 Posted in NCAA basketball news, NCAA college basketballGeorgetown John Thompson III isn’t surely sure how much increasing sophomore guard Austin Freeman weighs.
He doesn’t acutely care, whichever. As long as the thespian remains productive, the tutor will be happy.
Thompson isn’t concerned that Freeman a former five-star view out of the blue has ballooned this traveling. The 6-foot-4 Freeman in at 241 pounds at the Nike Paul Pierce Skills Academy in Los Angeles, 25 pounds more than any additional collegiate wing who and 31 over his itemized weight on the Hoyas’ sanctioned Web site.
“You me to look at my Web site for the key time in 10 months,” Thompson told Rivals.com Thursday. “In looking at it, what I imagine is at all doctor did it put Austin’s weight in next to Nikita Mescheriakov. He (Mescheriakov) is enumerated at 241 on the Web site and he’s not close to that.”
In fact, Mescheriakov and DaJuan Summers are both recorded at 241 on the Internet site. In last season’s Georgetown radio attendant, Freeman is listed at 220, Mescheriakov at 205 and Summers at 240.
“I didn’t know he was at that weight (241), but I don’t know any of them,” Thompson said. “I knew he was in that radius.
“There’s no fretfulness roughly his weight. No, he hasn’t put on 30 pounds. All I’m told his he very well there (at the Pierce camp), and that’s what matters to me.”
Freeman 9.1 points and 3.0 last season. He shot 51.3 , including 40 percent from 3-headland run (40 of 100).
With the departures of important Roy Hibbert (13.4 ppg) and third-top scorer Jonathan Wallace (10.7 ppg), the Hoyas want to see Freeman expand his scoring role, unceremoniously of whether his waistline expands.
