Betting On North Carolina Virginia Tech: North Carolina And Virginia Tech Have Different Needs

January 18th, 2012 Posted in NCAA basketball betting | No Comments »

The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Virginia Tech Hokies are both smarting and steaming at this point in the college basketball season, but for entirely different reasons.
North Carolina Tar Heels @ Virginia Tech Hokies – Thursday, January 19
Sports betting line: No line
Why North Carolina Will Win
When you do your homework and assess your best best sportsbook on this game, you have to realize that Virginia Tech is simply not very good. A number of transfers and injuries over the past year and a half have rendered coach Seth Greenberg’s team impotent and rather short-handed. Virginia Tech isn’t just one of those teams that’s having an occasional bad game over the course of a long season. The Hokies have already lost to both Wake Forest and Boston College, two of the worst teams in an ACC that’s already down compared to past years.

The ACC might get only three teams into this year’s NCAA Tournament, meaning that there are more vulnerable, beatable teams in the conference than in quite some time. Therefore, the fact that Virginia Tech is sinking and not rising (or even maintaining its same 2011 level) in the 2012 season is an ominous sign for the Hokies. A North Carolina team that lost last Saturday to Florida State should be ready and able to win this game decisively. After the Tar Heels stunk up the joint against Florida State, en route to a 90-57 loss, coach Roy Williams’ club should be very angry, full of vinegar and sourness as it seeks to get back on track.

Why Virginia Tech Will Win
The college basketball betting experts who are looking at this game are unquestionably going to take North Carolina. However, college basketball is a sport of upsets, and that’s what makes this – and every other non-cupcake game – appreciably intriguing. If North Carolina could completely fall apart at Florida State, it could do the same against Virginia Tech. Last weekend in Tallahassee, Florida, UNC simply didn’t show up in a 33-point loss. Carolina couldn’t hit the side of a barn from three-point range; star shooter Harrison Barnes hit just five shots all game long, and no one in Carolina blue uniforms had what could be called a hot hand. North Carolina point guard Kendall Marshall did not see the floor, and he coughed up one bad turnover after another, usually by throwing a lazy pass out of bounds. North Carolina played with little energy and even less of a sense of purpose. The Tar Heels have world-class talent, but they were drilled by a Florida State team that played with tremendous desperation from start to finish. Virginia Tech is definitely a desperate team after losing to Florida State and Boston College last week. The Hokies are looking for a signature win to jump-start their season. If Virginia Tech maxes out and North Carolina doesn’t wake up, of course this game can go in the Hokies’ direction.
Who Will Win
It’s hard to imagine North Carolina losing to Virginia Tech after disappearing against Florida State. The Tar Heels had one bad day at the office; it’s extremely unlikely they’ll have two clunkers in a row.

Dressing up boyfriend!

January 17th, 2012 Posted in NCAA basketball betting | No Comments »

i beat my boyfriend in a bet on who is better at basketball. The bet was the if i lost i had to wear whatever he wanted out to dinner next week. If i won, i was able to dress him how ever i want and take him where ever i want. i want to dress him like a girl and put some sexy tight clothes on him. What are some good outfits for him? links would be greatly appreciated! Thanks girls!
if you send me links ill be sure to send you pics of him!

  • First off, I’m not a girl, but hopefully this will give you a guy’s perspective on the situation.

I’m sorry, but I know it’s probably tempting to dress him up to embarrass him (since you won the bet), however this isn’t the best choice of action, in my opinion.

This will indeed embarrass him, but not in a “oh, I’ll get over it” kind of way. Instead, I can assure you in the long run it will most likely have a negative effect on your relationship. If my girlfriend would choose to embarrass me (even if she won some sort of bet to do so), it would still not go over well.

What you need to know is that any guy with dignity does not like to be embarrassed or humiliated by his girlfriend. If you want him to appreciate you even more as a girlfriend, instead choose to make him feel good by dressing up yourself. Not to embarrass yourself, but dress nice, as to impress him, and ask him to do the same. Then, have him take you to a nice dinner. This will go over well.

Hope this helps. Don’t humiliate the person you appreciate most, even if it is all fun and games.

  • just remember a humiliated boyfriend does not stay around long so if he is really somebody you love keep that in mind

Bet Virginia Georgia Tech – Virginia And Georgia Tech Try To Move Forward

January 17th, 2012 Posted in NCAA basketball betting | No Comments »

The Atlantic Coast Conference season is beginning to take shape in different ways through different prisms. How will Virginia and Georgia Tech handle their respective situations?
Virginia Cavaliers @ Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets – Thursday, January 19
Sports betting line: No line
Why Virginia Will Win
The college basketball betting experts who now have more information on the evolution of this Atlantic Coast Conference basketball season will tell you that Georgia Tech is not the “Rambling Wreck,” as its nickname suggests, but a wrecked and rambling basketball team. The same program that reached the 2004 NCAA national championship game against Connecticut is now struggling just to keep its head above water in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets have been shredded repeatedly all season long, coming up with stinkers in November against Saint Joseph’s and LSU. Georgia Tech continued to falter in December, face-planting against lowly Tulane and then dropping a pair of decisions against Mercer and – in a real shocker – Fordham, one of the annual bottom-feeders in the Atlantic 10.

Georgia Tech’s defense is passable, but its offense has been atrocious this season under first-year coach Brian Gregory, who came from the University of Dayton to experience a change of scenes. It’s really clear that Gregory – while he might generate better results over the next two months – is really working through a number of problems at the moment. In particular, he is looking for a way to get his team to play a more cohesive brand of halfcourt offense. Virginia remains the third-best team in the ACC behind Duke and North Carolina. They are the third team in the league that is likely to make the NCAA Tournament. Coach Tony Bennett has made Virginia a much more disciplined team at each end of the floor. This is a team with the defensive consistency – it held Duke to just 61 points last week – that can lock down Georgia Tech and make this game a not-very-dramatic affair. Virginia is also fresh, having received a full seven days of rest before this contest. It shapes up well for the Cavaliers – they have the right opponent and a full tank of fuel.
Why Georgia Tech Will Win
When you do your homework and assess your best best sportsbook on this game, you do need to be mindful of the fact that in December, Virginia almost lost on the road against a very poor Seattle University squad. Virginia did not respond well to on-ball pressure, committing numerous turnovers against Seattle’s full-court press. No, Georgia Tech doesn’t employ the same style as Seattle University, but the point of this little comparison is that if a bad Seattle team could come within six points (83-77) of Virginia – and that game was closer than the final margin indicated – Georgia Tech could certainly rise up and register the upset.
Who Will Win
It’s not going to be a cakewalk for Virginia, but the Cavaliers – who could be rusty after their week-long layoff – should use fresher legs to their advantage in the final 10 minutes. They should also be able to work through their rust by defending really well. Defense will win this game for Virginia.

Atheists: Do the prettiest people do the ugliest things

January 15th, 2012 Posted in NCAA basketball betting | No Comments »

I was at my local gym working out, then afterwards I went in to the basketball gym. There was youth ball going on. This beautiful ten year old mixed race boy that I watch was standing in the crowded doorway talking to his teammates. He was making fun of the movie war horse. His big beautiful green eyes glimmered, as he told the story. Then he spotted me watching him and asked "dude why are you always here? Do you even have a kid?" I looked behind me, then back at him. He said "I’m talking to you n!66a" So I just stay quiet and smile. then he says " i bet war horse is his second favorite movie, right after dolphin tail" then all his friends laugh at me as I leave the gym.

How could such a beautiful child be so cruel?

Not uncommon, but not a rule either.

Because that’s who they are. Someone can be beautiful on the outside and ugly on the inside, or both for either. And vice versa.

Your a f*cking pedo.

It does not translate well, the tone of your statement.
Are you p3do, or aren’t you?

So you generalize based on one experience and one person? Really? Really?

Pretty people are more likely to experience a lack of accountability. That’s all. There are plenty of mean ugly people too, I think just as many.

Michigan State Michigan Betting – Spartans’ Physical Play Will Be The Difference

January 14th, 2012 Posted in NCAA basketball betting | No Comments »

Online betting players should be excited for Tuesday’s Big Ten matchup on the hardwood, as Michigan State has surprised everyone to move up in the rankings, even surpassing their rivals from Michigan, who are trying to make their way back into the national spotlight. However, on the road, the Spartans will flex their muscles on both ends of the floor and wear down the Wolverines with their physical play.

What: March Madness betting
When: Tuesday, January 17th, 7:00 PM ET
Where: Crisler Center, Ann Arbor, MI
Pick: Michigan State Spartans

Why Bet On Michigan State Spartans (15-2 SU, 11-4 ATS, 4-0 Big Ten)
The No.6 Spartans still have to head to Northwestern this weekend, and they would be looking to extend their winning streak to 16 games after a 95-61 trouncing of Iowa at home on Tuesday. Draymond Green had a huge game with 22 points, nine boards, five assists and three steals, while Keith Appling had 15 points and nine assists for the Spartans, who had 25 assists on 37 field goals. The Spartans also hit 61.7% of their field-goal attempts, including 10 of their 18 three-point attempts and defensively, Michigan State held Iowa to 36.5% from the floor and forced 21 turnovers. It was as close to a perfect performance as you can get from a team, and after opening the season with losses to North Carolina and Duke on neutral courts.

If they can manage to get through the Northwestern game without any injuries, the Spartans should be healthy and that is bad news for the Wolverines because Michigan State is playing as well as anyone in the country. They’re doing it in typical Tom Izzo fashion as they’re crashing the boards (fifth in rebounding margin), they play good defense (15th in field-goal defense) and they pass the ball around (23rd in assists). The emergence of Appling after switching from shooting guard to the point has been a revelation for Izzo, and he is also defending the best perimeter player on the opposition, so the Spartans haven’t missed Kalin Lucas or Korie Lucious. Many NCAA basketball betting players counted out the Spartans before the season even started, but after wins at Gonzaga and Wisconsin, as well as a dominant home win over Indiana, Michigan State is looking scary.

Why Bet On Michigan Wolverines (14-3 SU, 8-6 ATS, 4-1 Big Ten)

The No.13 Wolverines also have a weekend game as they travel to Iowa, and they would be coming off a 66-64 overtime win at home over Northwestern on Wednesday. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke both played all 45 minutes and scored 19 points apiece, with Hardaway Jr. hitting five of his nine long-range shots and Burke adding seven assists and seven rebounds. Michigan shot a miserable 33.3% from the field and hit only seven of their 30 three-point attempts, while Northwestern hit 50% of their shots, but they knocked down 15 of their 16 free-throw attempts. They also had 14 offensive rebounds to three for the Wildcats and only seven turnovers to 15 for Northwestern, and this was a game that should give the Wolverines some encouragement because they didn’t play their best game, but they kept battling and found a way to come away with the victory.

Forward Jon Horford (foot) is no closer to rejoining the team, which hurts Michigan on the glass, but they showed against Northwestern that they can hit the boards as a team and they’ll need that against Michigan State. The Wolverines are 90th in rebounding margin and they have to figure out a way to compete against the Spartans on the glass or else this game will be over by halftime. The Wolverines normally live and die by the three, ranking 28th in three-pointers per game while hitting them at a 36.5% clip, but if they’re not falling, they need to rebound in order to hang with the Spartans.

How It Will Play Out
Michigan should be narrow NCAA basketball betting favorites at home against the Spartans, who are 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS in their last five in Ann Arbor with three games coming in under the posted total. The Wolverines swept the Spartans last year, and they’re 5-4 ATS at home this season, while the Spartans are 5-0 ATS on the road.

Michigan State will be motivated because of last year’s sweep, and we think they’re a tougher team than the Wolverines, by leaps and bounds. They have the ability to dominate the glass, and the Spartans are excellent when it comes to defending the three-point line (37th in three-point defense). They can take away what Michigan likes to do, and then pound the ball in the post with Green and Derrick Nix. Go with Michigan State to come away with the rivalry win on the road in your sports betting book.

Michigan State Michigan Betting Pick: Michigan State Spartans

What kind of things do you put in a contract

January 14th, 2012 Posted in NCAA basketball betting | No Comments »

Me and my brother made a bet. We are playing each other in a basketball game and we bet on who would win. I know people wouldn’t necessarily make a contract for something as silly as this, but he is notorious for backing out of our bets. So, because of that, I wanted to make sure he would pay his price. Which is why I need to know what kind of things I should put in my contract.

OK boys!
You should have:
What the objective is
When its to be achieved by
When the beginning is and when the end is (time limits)
What the the winner of the wager get upon success
When they get the prize
What form the prize is (such as candy / money / work / etc)
When the form of the challenge is
Where the challenge is to be held
Outside help – included or excluded.

There is a starting point for you

Happy betting.

A contract must be legal…in other words, the contract cannot be about conducting an illegal activity…for example entering into a contract with someone who will go steal other people’s properties for a commission for you…as robbing people and stealing properties is illegal.

A contract must have consideration for consideration……in other words, entering into a contract to buy a used car for $1000 has consideration on both sides…one being the $1000 and the other being the car.

A contract cannot be entered into by a minor as they are not legally able to enter into contracts per law. A 15 year entering into a contract to buy a stereo for $200 can legally back out of it because according the law he is not yet an adult capable of entering into contracts.

A contract cannot be made under threats or duress….someone putting a gun to someone’s head and saying sell me your $150,000 house for $1000 or I will pull the trigger, is considerate being under duress and such a contract is unenforceable…if proof of the duress can be proven.

Is there a reason why the NFL doesn’t do this

January 13th, 2012 Posted in NCAA basketball betting | No Comments »

After seeing the first round of NFL Playoffs, I began to wonder why these games aren’t being played at an alternative locations away from both teams. I’m not saying that having the home team advantage doesn’t have the best perks, after all, your regular season outdid your opponents and you now get 70,000 fans to cheer you, but this is the playoffs, a new round/stage for the both teams in each division. No matter if you had 9 wins or 13 wins, top 2 teams in each division should get a new setting of playing field and surroundings, in a "Bowl game" sense of mind I suppose.

NFL Playoffs are only but one game, then you move on to the next, nothing like baseball or even basketball where you get to alternate these home field/court benefits of both teams 2 or more times, feeding off your surroundings, which in more cases than usual play a factor on the outcome. It seems as an unfair advantage for the team that’s probably only behind just a single NFL win game away their opponent, even though you earned your way to the Playoffs just like your opponent did. The simplicity of regular season games leading into the Playoffs decide who you get to face in these Playoff games, and to me, it seems that’s all it very well should be, just this team faces this team. If they win then they face this team, like it is now. Nothing would change, just eliminating a home team advantage for all teams entering this defining single game.

Why not make these 10 Playoff games hosted by a stadium other than either team? Make it completely equal for both. An example of lets say again, a college bowl game. But instead of that being the only game (winner takes trophy) like these Bowl games, in the NFL you would just obviously advance and continue on in a different location under new stadium lights for both teams. Equal settings for both, with possible different outcomes.

Who gets to host these 10 Playoff games and even the Superbowl, simply just comes down to a lottery for the willing participating stadiums, before the season begins. I would bet any stadium would gladly host any Playoff game, any given year, even if it is a total of 10 games plus the Superbowl. Even seems like new way to gross substantial amounts of money for some major cities every year.

Just a thought, (if it seems to make sense).
Thank you everyone with the answers, many with great points.

there is some logic to this but on the down side of it, if they werent playing for home field advantage once they made the playoffs they would sit their starters like green bay did. in a lot of cases those games affect other people still trying to make the playoffs. in my opinion its better to keep them playing for something for as long as possible. also it stands to reason that the citys who are in the playoffs get to reap the financial rewards of their teams efforts.

also, assuming miami and the texans were playing but green bay won the bid, its not fair for them to have to go to green bay and potentially play in the snow just so green bay can make a few dollars that now miami and houston dont get to make.

The whole point of the regular season is to determine who makes the playoffs and who will get the benefit of those 70,000 screaming fans
If they removed that incentive then the Packers, Saints and Patriots would have been resting their star players by week 12 and the tv ratings would drop substantially
The NFL isn’t about fairness or entertaining you and I, it’s about making money

Because playoff teams are matched according to records. This is not the NCAA BCS bowl format. Teams with the best records deserve to have home field advantage and play in front of their fans. This is the same in MLB, NHL and NBA.

well, the baseball and basketball seasons are 162 and 88 respectively. thats ≈10x and 8.5x more than the nfls regular season. and both sports arent nearly as physical as the nfl, especially mlb where its a 2 man show (pitcher and catcher). and the teams do get home field advantage for winning because its a 7 game series (3 at home for the lower and 4 for the higher seed). if you give the teams a neutral sight, it doesnt benefit anyone except which fans travel well. teams like the cowboys, steelers, patriots and raiders would get so many more fans that teams like jacksonville, miami and the bills. if you get awarded for winning your division and being the highest seed. if that were the case of a neutral sight, then it really doesnt matter who gets the higher seed and really no point in ranking them. the ncaa works because they are individual games. there isnt some sort of advancement in a bowl system. thats why it works. and the bcs is simply matched by contracts, ratings and money. outside of the national championship game, theres no real formula for who is playing who in the bigger bowl games because its so flexible. and the bcs championship determines virtually all the match ups.

Local fans deserve to see the home team in the playoffs.

Local economies need the boost.

What would happen to Green Bay,Chicago,Buffalo if the stadium had to compete with Tampa Bay,Miami,San Diego for fans in January ?

I would agree Super Bowls should be in either warm weather or Dome stadiums only.

I get that weather is part of the game, but I’d hate to see a 6-3 Super Bowl decided by field goals in a blizzard.

There is no neutral location. Take a game between the Giants and Falcons. You cannot name one stadium where it is a level playing field. It is best to reward good seasons with home field advantage. Otherwise seeding would be almost irrelevant.

Louisville Marquette Betting – Louisville Tries To Stop Free-Fall In Milwaukee

January 13th, 2012 Posted in NCAA basketball betting | No Comments »

The Big East season has been a nightmare for the Louisville Cardinals. A team that dominated in non-conference competition has been thoroughly shredded by familiar league opponents.
Louisville Cardinals @ Marquette Golden Eagles – Monday, January 16
Sports betting line: No line
Why Louisville Will Win
The college basketball betting experts who are going to have a lot of work to do on Martin Luther King Day will be focusing in part on an afternoon encounter between Louisville and Marquette. Louisville is getting pounded right now in the Big East Conference, but the Cardinals haven’t been a regular NCAA Tournament team for nothing. This is a program that manages to show a considerable degree of resilience each and every season. Just when you think a three- or four-game losing streak has landed Louisville to the canvas, the Cards figure things out. Just when Louisville seems utterly lost and entirely hopeless, head coach Rick Pitino – one of the best bench coaches in the sport, a gameday master at orchestrating the matchups he wants – delivers his best work and gets his team turned around. This is the scenario staring at the Cardinals in Milwaukee against Marquette. It’s so easy to think this team is a sitting duck, but that’s precisely when Louisville has proven to be particularly dangerous in the college basketball world. Don’t sleep on Louisville in this game; you might get a rude surprise.
Why Marquette Will Win
When you do your homework and assess your best best sportsbook on this game, you don’t have to make things any more complicated than they already are. Marquette is not a brilliant team or a dominant team, but the Golden Eagles have cultivated a reputation as an appreciably flinty outfit which doesn’t back down from a fight and is able to persevere in a closely-contested defensive grinder. This is, in other words, the kind of team that can beat Louisville at its own game. Further analysis of Cardinals-Golden Eagles suggest that Marquette is actually in good position to take this tilt in the state of Wisconsin.

Louisville, quite simply, is a mess. Don’t overthink the issue: The Cardinals just can’t score, and their lack of offense is carrying over to the defensive end of the floor. Louisville scored just 65 points in a double-overtime loss to Notre Dame last Saturday. UL then posted only 59 points in a humiliating 31-point loss to Providence on Tuesday night in the state of Rhode Island. Coach Rick Pitino is looking for answers, but the larger reality in the Commonwealth of Kentucky is that Louisville just doesn’t possess top-shelf offensive talent. When Louisville made the Elite Eight in both the 2008 and 2009 seasons, the Cardinals had Earl Clark and Terrence Williams, two difference-making offensive performers. Those kinds of rangy, powerful scorers are nowhere to be found on the current UL roster, and that’s a big reason why this team can’t buy a bucket. Marquette just needs to play solid defense if it wants to clip the Cards.
Who Will Win
It’s not too difficult to appreciate that Louisville is going to come out of this tailspin at some point. Will Monday afternoon be the time? It’s hard to tell, but the sensible play is to expect Louisville to struggle just a little bit longer. The breakthrough will come… but not against Marquette. Pick the Golden Eagles over the Cardinals in this contest.

Baylor Kansas Betting – Can Baylor Possibly Remain Unbeaten In Lawrence?

January 12th, 2012 Posted in NCAA basketball betting | No Comments »

The Big 12’s best team to this point in the season is not the Kansas Jayhawks. The longtime standard bearer in this league is having to cede the spotlight to the surprising Baylor Bears.
Baylor Bears @ Kansas Jayhawks – Monday, January 16
Sports betting line: No line
Why Baylor Will Win
The college basketball betting experts who are beginning to finely train their eyes on this season of roundball are looking on in wonderment at the body of work being put together by the Baylor Bears. Coach Scott Drew’s team didn’t even make the Big Dance last season after making an Elite Eight run in the 2010 NCAA Tournament. However, after a year in the outhouse, the Bears are back in the penthouse. Right now, if you tried to seed and bracket the 2012 NCAA Tournament, Baylor would unquestionably be a No. 1 seed. The Bears won at BYU. They held off Mississippi State. They knocked back San Diego State and climbed over West Virginia. Then, they went into Manhattan, Kansas this past week and took down Kansas State. This is a team with stacks of road and neutral wins and very few cupcakes. It has a lot of wins against teams that are in the top 50 and top 100 of the ratings percentage index rankings.

Not many other teams have the wins Baylor has, and since the Bears are unbeaten, it’s entirely accurate to say that almost every other team (Syracuse and Kentucky are exceptions) owns at least one bad loss. This track record of quality is hard to bet against, especially since – as mentioned above – much of it has been fashioned in road and neutral contests. It’s very hard to win at Kansas, but the Jayhawks aren’t what they used to be. KU lost to Davidson College this season, a horrible and unfathomable loss that previous Jayhawk clubs just wouldn’t have suffered. Baylor will not be intimidated when it goes to Lawrence, and that could be the biggest factor riding in BU’s favor.

Why Kansas Will Win
When you do your homework and assess your best best sportsbook on this game, you have to realize how incredibly difficult it is to make it through an entire college basketball season without a single defeat. The last team to go unbeaten through a full season remains the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers. College basketball is too much of a grind, and its roughly 35- to 39-game schedule is just too daunting; it offers too many opportunities for a team to lose. Baylor will likely be a No. 2 seed at the very least, and it will have a shot at locking down a No. 1 seed for the 2012 NCAA Tournament, but the Bears are not likely to carry a perfect record through the Big 12 Conference season. Kansas isn’t quite as formidable as it was in past years, but the Jayhawks thrive in their home building, Phog Allen Fieldhouse. A loss at “The Phog” is a once-every-three-or-four-year event for Kansas. If ever there was a time for the Jayhawks to regroup and claim a big scalp this season, it’s against Baylor.
Who Will Win

It’s not hard to put in perspective: The 1991 UNLV Runnin’ Rebels carried a perfect record into the Final Four, the last team to pull off that particular feat. Can Baylor keep defying the odds? Probably not – take Kansas.

College Basketball Betting Pick: Kansas

it’s truly hard to relate to music afficionados when they dont respect lil wayne

January 12th, 2012 Posted in NCAA basketball betting | No Comments »

it’s really disappointing to hear one of my friends reference the latest and greatest musicians ever and somehow exclude lil wayne. He’s a powerful rapper and knows how to play around and write the wittiest one liners ever. He’s like a comedian who can be serious and tell stories and vocalize powerful social messages ("take away the football team, the basketball team and new orleans has only got me to represent them." his message should’ve been listened to after hurricane katrina instead of kanye’s blatant troll comment). He’s really unparalleled and if he was alive in the 16th/17th century he’d be considered a highly gifted polymath, savant, and prodigy. Imagine what he could’ve have done hundreds ago. I bet he could’ve have invented calculus and put shakespeare, mozart, and beethoven out of work.

You shouldn’t let things like that get you upset. Everyone has their own taste in music and their own opinion. I don’t think Wayne has been around long enough to be considered as one of the greatest musicians ever though. Maybe in a few more years he will get more respect.

Personally he would not be on my list of legends either. When I think of greatest musicians ever I think of MJ, Tupac, Elvis and Kurt Cobain. But hey, that is simply my opinion. Wayne would be on my list of great rappers from the new school though.
